Thanks, TDR Staff

Is spell check gone or am I doing something wrong?

"The Fix" for bad menus and sloooowwww thread loading.

I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this problem, but periodically when I go onto the TDR website I see (this just now happened):

Since your last visit:

09-21-2004 12:37 PM.

62 new threads

83 new posts

I click on 'view new posts' and get:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

Even when I do get to view the threads, very often (about 50% of the time), I see the above message before I can get to the end of the posts.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Basically you "Timed out"

The new BB software times out after ten minutes. If you load the new posts then walk away (or do something else on the net but not on the TDR website) it deletes them after time.

I loved that View new Posts" button until now. Now I use "get last days post"

You can see more things about this Here.

Actually, it times out after 15 minutes which is what it always did - the old version worked on the same time out window. As long as you have some activity (a page refresh works) within that 15 minutes it won't happen.

Thanks for the replies, but that can't be it, at least not in this case. We're talking about several seconds here not minutes.

I get access to the site (Home page), click 'view new posts' and get the second message back immediately.

All I can say is that I never had this problem before the new software. I have seen this problem from two different computer: one a DSL link and the other a T-100 link. Since I do web development myself (Java), I just naturally look first to what's changed for the source of a problem.

Thanks,

Jim

HI Steve,

I am seeing similiar problems. Seems to happen frequenly when I enter the site and click 'View New Posts Since Your Last Visit' on the main page. I am sure that most of the messages that I saw were not the result of timeouts.

I have resorted to using 'Get Last Days Posts' underneat the Discussion Forum on the main page. That seems to work better...
