I am going to have guages and EZ installed on Tues. Truck is stock except for BHAF. Should I go with new injectors or the box? I haven't BOMBed the trans yet and will either one of the mods smoke my stock trans? Thanks, Greg

I have a auto trans:)

EZ should be OK on the trans, assuming you have the auto. I installed EZ back in June and I modified the valve body via a kit (not recommeneded for the faint of heart) to increase the line pressure to help hold converter clutch. I pull between 8-10k in load, so you will be fine. Just don't try and apply all that power & torque with the converter locked up.

I installed a PE Comp Box on a guys truck (01 3500 4x4) and he has stock transmission and he hasn't blown up anything running box on 5x5 with 40 psi boost, and he takes it to truck pulls.

Install EZ first with guages then go with injectors. Injectors without box will not gain much.

Hope this helps.

Greg, I am going to assume you have an auto trans because you are worried about it. The EZ or injectors will probably be OK alone, but both together will shred your transmission. Injectors larger than DD2's or equivalent will also shred your transmission. DD2's are the absolute limit for a stock auto, and some have had slippage with just the EZ or just DD2's. Injectors and boxes make different kinds of power. The injectors make very smooth power across the RPM band, a box adds a lot more lower in the RPM range where the auto is more vulnerable because of lower pressures. Go with either, but not both until you are ready to upgrade the valvebody. If you put on either and feel (or see on the tach) ANY slippage get it addressed immediately. A slipping transmission dies in short order. Hope this helps.
