I installed the Fass 95 with the 3 micron filter and followed the directions on the install and when I was done I stepped back and looked at it and thought "Why the heck did they bypass the stock filter housing?". The OEM lines are just sitting there and are sure as heck mounted better/cleaner than the add on Fass lines and the housing has the fuel heater.

I found this and I'm curious if anyone has used it to get their Fass system routed through their stock filter housing? If so, did you have to remove the stock lift pump?

Thanks,

Yes You remove the factory Pump, I would differently keep the housing,Also keep the pressure under 15 PSI. unless looking to gain HP,otherwise the added pressure can be harmful.

The canister seals may leak and the CP3 doesn't need the the additional Pressure to function correctly. I will take lower Pressure high volume pump(s).

That's exactly the part I used when I replaced my lift pump, everything else stays in place.

When I installed my 95, I plumbed it into the stock housing where the lift pump used to be. Later, I added the 2 micron filter from GDP, which is fed from the bottom of the housing, and then to the CP3. That way you have the original filtration, heat and water sensor, followed by the 2 micron spin-on.

CoastyAV8R, good find!!

I was looking for something like that when I added my FASS 95. I to wanted to keep the stock filter heater set-up as a last chance filter.

I now may have to get this adapter and redo the pump to filter housing routing.

I get that, but you also bypass the fuel heater and when it's putting out 15 psi and you lose 1-2 psi by going through the stock canister on a stock truck, there is still plenty of fuel pressure to do the job.

I have a Airdog 165II adjustable. I am into power and lots of it so performance is the name of the game for me. I ran mine directly to the cp3, and run the 2micron filter with the Airdog. I run an antigell additive in the winter and have had no problems so far. I can see why one would want to use the stock system for heat, and extra filtration. With the truck being stock you will be fine. Pureflow offers a "Big line kit" for those who want to retain their stock filter canister, so you do have another option, if you get bit by the HP bug.

Hey Coasty, did you ever follow trough with installing the Fass pump? Did you bi-pass the LP and go straight to the CP3? If so, how is the truck running at idle ect...? Do you have any mods that open up the fuel system?

I have a Fass fuel pump (the 95 model) routed straight to the CP3 with no additional mods besides a smarty set low. It's idling poorly at times and cuts out during idle here and there. Wondering if the CP3 is getting too much pressure....
