Guys,

yesterday I took the 4 screws out of the top of my afc housing and rotated the plunger/diaphragm to give max fuel delivery. As my post shows I already had the Banks kit. I had to rotate mine @90 degrees clockwise. I did not think this would help that much, but it was worth a try. All I can say is WOF!!, no I do not mean WOW!! I mean WOF!! Watch Out Fords!!! This thing really rocks now. Man I could not believe the power increase. I did adjust the star wheel some. I highly recommend this to EVERYONE. I did this and turned the rpm's up to 3,000. This thing is incredible!!! I can't hardly believe that such a small adjustment(takes @15 minutes and a road test) could make SO MUCH of an improvement.

Thanks to Piers at BD for all his help. I also got info from TST, Dave Fritz's page and Diesel Dynamics, cause I wanted to be SURE before I monkeyed with anything.

Love those Cummins, now if it was only that simple on my 99, I'd be in Cummins heaven. I will report on mileage when I get done ripping around. Been gettin' about 22-23 back and forth to work, 24. 5 on interstate at 75-80mph empty.

Hi Don,
Glad to see everything worked out good. How does the extra rpm's feel? How are your egt's now? If they are still in the safe zone and you want some more HP let me know & I'll guide you thru the next phase, be carefull though, HP is addictive :-}

Piers,

things are fine. i am only running empty now, eventhough I've been romping on it occasionally I have got 500 mile out of 3/4 tank of fuel. Still getting great mileage. Boost comes on alot quicker than it used to. I can get 20 psi in 4th and 5th and almost 20 in third. EGT's have approached 1000-1050 on an extended romp by my buddy. He owns a 99 PSD and he had to drive mine. He admits, he can't hold a candle to me. Email me to discuss the next phase. Yes power is addictive.

thanks
Don

Hi Big Don,
Haven't heard from you in a while, did you turn up the wick some more? How's the fuel mileage & egt's while towing? Your testing must have produced some results for us all to see, get out the old one typing finger & let us know.

Piers, I guess I missed this discusson on rotating the plunger as I do not know what he is talking about . Please enlighten me in my quest for power working at the ford KTP and devoring new powerjokes is a hobby so let the info roll please.

ramman: You can wade thru the discussions on the 1st Gen threads: "super hot pre 93", and "16cm Turbo Housing". These will get you "STOKED". I'm sure Piers and Ted may add their expertise.
Have fun.
