My PM3 is an older model that I've sent in twice to be upgraded.

Originally a PM2 upgraded to a 3 then upgraded to a Comp.

I purchased a standard remote that has the 10 levels with no pyro or boost #'s.

When turned on and driving I can watch the #'s change say from 6 down to 3 then back to 6.

Sometimes the little screen goes blank then comes back on.

If I turn the box off then back on it seems to reset itself.

Remote phone cord is in perfect condition and has never been bent or twisted.

Was curious if anyone else has had this problem.

Does the truck stumble at all when the display goes blank? If it does, then, you might have a bad power or ground connection.

If it goes blank, but the truck continues to run OK, it must be in the remote, or the box itself.

No the truck doesn't stumble but there is a noticable decrease/increase in power. Not sure but I think it did this from the start. TST has had the box twice for reprograming so I think they would have noticed if there was a problem with that port. Maybe a bad remote?

My PM3 does similar stuff but only when I drop it into second gear. I have a DTT SmartController that keeps the lock-up on when in second. The PM3 works fine with the remote unplugged. Plugged in and drop to second gear, value changes, lights blink off and on, engine stumbles. I went through same procedure on the PM upgrades. I also have the older PM3 with the two cable connectors on back. Just shipped it to TST to be re-checked.

My PM3 R46 Remote does some funny stuff too. It seems to be associated with the Pac brake and ATS Commander. With the pac brake off, the display works fine. With the Pac brake on, when the truck is slowing down and the commander unlocks the torque converter (which also turns the pac brake off), then the EGT and boost display will go blank for awhile. Sometimes they stay blank until I unplug the remote or turn off the engine. The transmission display does not change. It stays on CLD (not hooked up yet)

TST told me they have a known problem with their displays and some other aftermarket electronics (namely the Pac brake!) The said to install a diode parallel to the 12V power to the pac brake. I did that and also moved the PM3 ground straight to the battery Now the problem shows up much less frequently.

Hope this helps

I may have to try the seperate ground. I might pull my EZ box and see if that helps.
