02 H. O. 6spd, Dana 80 Rear Diff: Just installed a PML Diff cover. Nice product, well made and looks great. Added 5 qts amsoil 75-140 and still didn't make the full mark. Quit an increase in volume over stock. There is a suprise in store when you finish the job. If you look at the clearance from the spare tire to the rear of the diff cover when the rear suspension is loaded down,, there is no room to clear the tire. So now when I hook up the 40 ft toy hauler, I'll be taking the spare and carrying it in the bed , not the end of the world, but annoying none the less.

I'm glad I have a mag-hytec then. No clearance issues at all. It increased the capacity to 7 qts in my D80.

What do you fly?

I ran into this back in the old days when I put a mag-hytec cover on, here is what I did... ... As in the pic, I put in two bolts about two inches long at the ends of the bracket . Instead of the bracket riding in the center of the rim hole, the added bolts go in two of the lug holes in the rim which moves the tire to rear. It gave me almost an inch of clearance between the tire and cover when loaded. Cranked it up tight, been that way for years.

Great idea Ram4Sam !!

I guided/pushed the spare all the way rearward (under the truck), while my wife cranked it up. When you crank it all the way up, the friction between the tire and bed will keep it in place.

Been retired from real aviation for 7 years now. No desire to fly the friendly skys anymore. Know a little about being an oiler on DC6's, Lockheed Connie, 727. Only fly RC airplanes now, , you can leave a smokin hole in the ground and still go home for a cold beer.

I retired in '93. The Army took all the fun from flying. I have had the good fortune to be able to fly the simulator a few times. Another place where you can crash and still go home for a cold beer. :D
