Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) po216 code injection pump

Had my cruise control on yesterday and my truck started loosing speed on a grade I put my foot all the way into the pedal and no power, I finally made it home checked my codes and have a po216 po1682 ? po1693? I knew the 216 was a bad pump but don't know the others?

Called Herb Chambers dodge this morning told them the problems and when they ask me for my name red flags came up and I was told my warranty is void because I modified my truck. 3 years ago I put grease fitting on all of my ball joints so because of this mod my warranty is void, truck just turned 41,000. Fight em and get them to put on a new pump. If they refuse, get the refusal in writing, including the specific reason why, fix your truck and then sue them in small claims court for the cost of the repair. Ball joints voiding a Cummins engine warranty - that's BS.

Scumbags... ... ... ... ... ... and dealers wonder why customers don't bring their vehicles in for repairs when they have problems AFTER the warranty period ends. Independent shops, good ones, will always have a place in this world, just because of these dealers' attitudes.

I'm so f----n mad right now I can't think straight, I can't believe that weasel service manager that ratted me to D C just because I was trying to prolong my tie rods. I guess that a real damaging and risky MODIFICATION

Start By calling the 1800 customer service # in your owners manual. The front end parts are out of warranty any way its the engine that is the warranty issue.

I just shelled out 1600 bones for a new pump. I only have 63k on mine. big injectors and a comp box will do that I guess. I've modified the heck out of my truck, I'll never step foot in a dealers door again.

They have to replace it under warrety unless they find mod to the engine. I work in a dealership and they can't void your engine warrenty because of steering mods, heck Alot of the time we pick up the tab even if there alittle out of warrenty just to keep the customer happy, but were a toyota dealer and there better at customer relations than DC.

So why don't you call your Senator... . Teddy Kennedy. Tell him that DC and the dealership are in violation of the Magneson Act. They must prove that your modification caused the problem with your pump before they can void your drivetrain warranty. I'm sure the Senator has enough clout that he can get something worked out.

Thats funny because I ALWAYS HAD TO PAY FOR WARRANTY WORK. DONE TO THE TRUCK. Yes Toyota was very good head gasket and rear oil seal and clutch (oil on clutch). .
