Today my truck was idling and it just died I turned it off and waited a few minutes and it fired up and ran. this has happened 2 times today , I had the codes pulled and they told me it has a P0251 , something to do with fuel metering . How bad is this?

Well here is the official description for the fault code:P0251= Injection Pump Fuel Valve Feedback I don't really know what this means so hopefully someone will chime in with further information for you.

check your transfer pump pressure. I have got that code when I have shut the transfer pumps off while running (trying to make a kill switch).

What truck do you have?? Do you have any mods??

I looked it up and found it has something to do with the fuel control actuator,

I will check my transfer pump tonight, and see if I can check the FCA.

Well I think my transfer pump is taken a dump on me,the fuel pressure is low and, of all things I must have gotten some bad fuel because I had just changed my fuel filter 3 weeks ago, and I checked it and there was a little water and some black junk in the bottom of the bowl and the filter was nasty. So I changed the filter and the code has not come up again. I am trying not to drive it until I get a new transfer pump. what is a good replacement for the stock pump, I would like to stay around $400. 00 if possible.
