Guys I got my first trouble code today PO252. I was going down the highway lost power, saw blue smoke behind me and the engine died. I noticed the my edge comp leds were all lit up weird and couple of them flashing. I turned of the ignition and restarted the truck, engine light now on, but was running fine. I turned on the Edge Comp and things got weird again, the engine stumbled real bad, the took off like a bat out of heck, and the was on the second setting out of 5. drove the truck home with the edge off, no problems, but engine light still on. I used my laptop to scan the ECM and it showed code P0252 in the history log but not a active problem. PO252 is not in the book, but the software saids it is a fuel metering problem ? I re set the code and drove the truck about 50 miles with the edge comp off and no problems, I also rescanned the ECM looking for trouble codes and none were found.

I have also been having issues with the Edge Comp, once in a great while it will lock up in mode 3 (even though it was set at 2) and I have to shut down the truck and restart to be able to change the settings again(comp will not power off either). I am hoping that the Edge Comp is the problem and not the VP44

My lift pump is weak but the lowest I let my fuel pressure get is 5psi and I run at 9psi. I have got a FASS system on order to deal with the chronic lift pump problem.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it ?

The Comp is toast, mine did the same thing as far as locking up and blinking lights until it finally died completely. Call Edge they'll send you a new one.

Also check the ground wire. Make sure it gets relocated to the battery.

I was getting all kinds of wierd things with my Comp. Turned out my ground that was attached to the air horn had a little corrosion on it. Moved the ground to the battery and everything was fine, runs great now.

Just like Mactruck said, I was getting the P0253 code, moved the ground to the battery and the problem has been gone ever since.
