I assume your talking about the Ranger?
Polaris developed a 6x6 long before the 4 wheeled UTVs were available. I remember a friend having one in the late 90s. Pretty sure John Deere was the first to develop them however, my grandfather had a Gator 5 wheeler that he bought new in the late 80s/ early 90s. They developed a 6x6 soon after, and when Polaris saw how popular they were they developed the Ranger. I'm not 100% sure on the exact year but I do know they were available by 98-99.

Thanks for the reply, It is not a Ranger, probably a Sportsman with different equipment, it has the little dump bed where the rear rack would be and a covered storage on the front, it also has some little storage areas in the fender wells. 500 four stroke engine and four wheel drive. bg

That would be the ATP. It was introduced in 2004 as a 500, basically the Magnum with the dump bed. In 2005 it was offered as a 500 and a 330. It was not brought back in 2006.

What years did Polaris sell the 500 with a dump bed? Thanks, bg
Just some FYI.
You mentioned ATV as opposed to UTV, (side by side). I had a 2011 Polaris Sportsman X2 that Polaris refers to as a "X2 model". It was an extended wheelbase ATV unit like their Touring Model except that had a dump bed that converted into a "2 up" capable ATV. It had a fairly useful small dump bed and a seat that popped up from the bed that allowed another passenger to ride comfortably behind the driver. I ended up selling mine to acquire a "Mid size" Ranger UTV side by side.
I believe that in 2011 and 2012 they offered both 500cc and 850cc versions (I had the 850). They still manufacture it today as a 570cc X2 according to the website.
I'm reasonably sure the X2 was built in 2010 but I am uncertain on any years before that.

Myself and a buddy bought a pair of 2008 Sportsman 800 X2's. They were called the Stealth Edition with limited availability. We both still have them.
