WOOHOO 3rd in the state.....

Jeep 4.0 with HX35 turbo?

Yeah, I've thought about doing that before (our local cops have a purple Camaro they seized from some drug dealer) - it just never sticks. Must be the 305hp CTD making it soooooo much fun to haul butt. Granted, I don't haul butt on the same scale as the Charger, but it's still just too much fun to quit.

I remember way back in the dark ages, 60's, I looked into a white Dodge in Arizona. It got my attention because of blower belt and scoop on the hood, the light bar on top, and the star on the door. Inside was one bucket seat, a roll bar, and a nitrous oxide tank in the back. I don't think anybody would have outrun that thing on the Arizona highways in those days.

I know what youre sayin....

I tell the Wife "I got more than I need but not as much as I want".

My point is, I dont even thing they encourage car chases in NYC.

It's like having a 50 BMG with no bullets???

I remember back in the 70's in Calif. , the highway patrol used to run Dodge 440 cu. in. with 273 freeway flyer rear ends... They could have gone 160 mph if needed.

I got a ticket once for doing 120+ :-laf

99. 9% of the time, my truck is more than I need. But there's that . 1% where I need to get into Philadelphia so my wife can visit her mom in the hospital during the heaviest snow storm in living memory, or I take a three-week-long road trip with my family out to Wyoming (including camping equipment). It's got to be like that with the NYPD - 99. 9% of the time they don't need that speed. . 1% of the time they will. And I bet it's not the top speed they want, but how quickly it gets to lower speeds. Acceleration rules!

Elite, I've never gotten a car over 115 mpg (though I should've gotten a ticket for that). My truck I've only ever gotten to 100 or so.

Dang how did you get 115MPG's?????????? You must of had some serious Bombing going on in that vehicle :-laf Sorry I knew what you meant, but I'm a smart arse :D

Ooops, my bad. I have mpg on the brain - I got 21. 7 mpg out of my truck this weekend driving back from the ski slopes - a personal record!

Well back when I got that ticket for doing 120+, that was my 2nd ticket of the night, I got one earlier in the night for driving too slow & impedeing traffic, just because we were talking to some fine looking young ladies walking down the sidewalk... That was back in 78', I was driving a 68' GTO. Young, dumb and full of --- !

I went 117 MPH in a 73 Cuda' 340. 4 speed with the pistol grip shifter. 3. 23 gears.

I went 147MPH in a 87 Buick GN. Used the formula to figure out how fast I was going in the GN because the speedo only went to 85 MPH.

My truck only goes 100. I was there only one time, but that was in a snow storm. :-laf

Eric

PS I NEVER complain when I get a ticket.

I've gotten away with far more than anyone should and I'm very lucky to be alive. :)

I went 115 in a '77 VW Dasher wagon - the car was a complete beater but the 4-cylinder had no emissions controls whatsoever and ran like a top. I got going on a long country road with a long steep down hill and topped it out. Poor car sounded like it was ready to fly apart, but like Elite I was young, dumb and full of ..... stuff. I also never complain about tickets - as one of the leaden of foot, I don't go dangerous speeds... much... . anymore, but I seldom go the limit either.
