How about this take on matters
Using that name for the op could have been designed as a short term tactic. Use it, knowing the effect it will have, then take it away after it has had it's desired effect. Our leaders don't choose these words by accident. They had to know the effect this would cause. Look at the results: We look insensitive, it gets alot of press coverage; people talk about it and the impression that is conveyed is that we are all marching in different directions and are divided. Same situation with the apparent differing points of view between Colin Powell and Dubya on how we are going to execute this war. What Colin Powell did on the Sunday morning talk shows is no less than insubordination, yet he wasn't called to task for it. I think we're employing the judicious use of psy-op tactics upon the terrorists. There are just to many smart people in this administration for me to buy into the notion that these tactics are not deliberate. Someday we'll know for sure, but I'm betting on all of this being tactical in nature. Remember George Bush the 41st. While Desert Shield was underway, what did he do? He went out and played golf. The media got their ovaries all knotted up over it. They completely missed the point by saying he was out of touch and that he was insensitive to what that military buildup was going to do to troop morale. Look how wrong they were. Maybe I'm being too charitable here, but I don't think so. Our people aren't that dumb. Dumb like a fox, maybe, but not the kind of dumb that this is being made to look like.
