It sheared second gear, plus the countershaft, off.

I've got one in the shop right now with 3rd sheared off and the countershaft broke as well.



He's got a stock truck with some pump work. I guess you two are about at the same HP level.



Now that you've found the limit of that 5 speed, now's a good time to consider putting an automatic in there so you can be competitive.

I'm 9-1 this year, 8 full pulls, and you want me to CHANGE a major component? NOT!

I just need to tweeak a hair more and get into 4th low, direct drive, get off that countershaft.



Although I would consider any serious offer from the automatic vendors!!!They could use a winning truck to test their stuff.

It took you this long to break a countershaft? You have twice the power if not more than I have, and you just now trashed the transmission. You need to use all of the throttle more often. Rember, its a competition truck, it NEEDS to be ran HARD.

That proves, that an Operating Engineer with twice the power, is easier on parts than an Indiana farmer.
