The cummins is no longer a virgin...

I got all lined up for the WVO. The guys dump if out of the fryer about 15 minutes after turning it off. My guess is 170F or less by then.

The boss dont think the HDPE drum will survive. I told him I'd dump 10 gallons on the bottom before his guys empty the fryer, but he wants to see it will survive, so that there wont be a concern in the future.

Wiki says it should melt 220F-265F (depending on blend of polymers). So I believe it'll be fine.

Anyone out there ever do this before?

I have a supplier who dumps their hot oil into my plastic 250 gallon collection tank. it has about 120 gallons in it now and no problem. I would say the first batch would be the hardest on it and you could always leave about 5-10 gallons in it when you collect it so the next time they dump, the heat will not be as harsh.
