It’s been pretty warm here in middle Tennessee, temps in the mid 90’s and very high humidity. Tough conditions for an A/C system. I’ve noticed mine hasn’t been up to snuff. At times when idling it wouldn’t even cool at all. I normally run it on bi-level and I noticed driving around in shorts this weekend that I could sometimes feel the air blowing on my ankles and sometimes not, low airflow from the dash vents, and the outside of the windshield fogging up directly over the defrost vents.
Today I inspected the vacuum lines and found the hoses connecting the main line from the pump, the check valve, and the manifold on the firewall were basically crumbling. I replaced them and it’s like a new A/C system. The vacuum leaking enough that it couldn’t hold the blend doors in position.
I did check the charge and pressures, all were good.
