My 01 has been giving me only 11mpg lately, down from normal 18-20. I run straight pipe, no loss of power, seems to be up to temp (180). Any thoughts of cause?

go into user control pannel and fill in , I think its signature, info about truck ,yr. -mod -equip. so everybody can help easyer, I'll make a couple guess's , fuel fuelfilter , maybe lift pump or exhaust restriction , get off the ground and check that everything rolls , brakes grabing , bearings after those it may be a deeper problum, I like to always check the basics first and hope for a cheeper fix, good luck.

No loss of power doesn't sound right. Sure it wasn't bad fuel? If it's something with the truck, I would think you would feel it. Check the filters and brakes. I had one of my fronts lock with no noticable drag. Lathed my front rotor into dust.

The MAP sensor is on the drivers side close to the top at the rear of the motor with one plug in the center of it, i think you need about 1-1/4" -1-1/2" socket to remove it.

there is not really a way to check it it!

it's just as easy to replace it

but it will give you poor MPG and power

Now for thew million dollar question..... have you possibly changed where you are buying your fuel lately? I accidently bought premium fuel one day and my mileage shot through the roof (compared to my regularly pumped stuff). Good luck!
