Just a heads up to anyone considering a "New" upgraded Borgeson power steering/hydro boost pump that mates to the vacuum pump on the 24 valve ISB. My truck is a 2001 H.O. 6 speed that has 311,000 miles on it. A couple of weeks ago I discovered that the seal between my vacuum pump and power steering pump was leaking. I had replaced the seal about ten years ago at about 150,000 miles with Gould's seal kit, and it has worked flawlessly up till now. I decided to use his kit again, as it's easy and pretty straight forward. I also decided to upgrade the pump at the same time to a Borgeson pump from Geno's Garage. When the whole unit was installed back into the truck I still had an oil leak between the pumps. I assumed I had damaged the seal when I installed it in the vacuum pump so I reinstalled a new seal. It STILL leaked. What I discovered is that the coupling supplied with the Borgeson pump is of extremely poor quality. It is porous and does not facilitate a good seal between the coupler and the seal. I sourced a new pump from a local vendor that had a much smoother machined surface on the coupler, and now have a leak free vacuum pump/power steering pump that should last another 150,000 miles . I have since confirmed that this is not a unique occurrence with the Borgeson pump coupler. As a side note, Geno's Garage took the pump back and refunded my money with no questions asked. Great service!
