Archived Poor running 98 24-Valve

Hellol All, I am trying to help a friend with a 1998 24-valve truck having a problem. The truck is an auto with 201K on it. It starts and runs smooth and strong for about 10 miles or so. It will than will loss all power ( no boost, no pull) but idle's fine and stays running. When it acts up will only go about 30mph. Pull over and pump the pedal and it seems to clear up and pull again only to repeat no power again. Both filters changed so far. Thanks in advance, Bryan

sounds like injection pump, when it gets hot it pretty much goes down hill then when it cools it runs good, see if there are any codes.

is it the original injection pump and transfer pump



what is the fuel pressure at the injection pump, its gotta be a fuel issue, it also could be apps sensor but thats unlikely without codes

I know where and how to test the pressure on a 12-V. Is the 24-V the same procedure?

yeah, there might be a test fitting on the supply line right where the fitting is on the injection pump, or there might be one before the filter
