I would like to know what anyone thinks ablout the comfort of the seats.

I have and 04. 5 with cloth seats and they have little or no padding. There are 2 steel bars one on eather side of the seat that make them real uncomfortable. My truck is going to the shop this week for warrenty work and this is one thing that has to be corrected.

Try a search and see what pops up. . I know it's been discussed before. Do you have the premium cloth? I haven't had any trouble with mine. I weigh 215 and my seat is as comfy as can be.

My ST must have the base seat but it fits me fine.

I'm pretty average, 5-10 and 175#, two arms, two legs...

I drive 10 hour days, stoping only for fuel, three days in a row. Take week or so off and do it again.

I like my seats.

If the dealer won't help you, borrow a first gen and drive 8 hours in it. When you get back in your 3rd gen your backside will think it has died and gone to heaven.

Laramie here also. Seats are fine for a couple of days driving. After that it's adjusting the lumbar control every couple of hours for comfort. All in all, not bad.

Laramie here also... ... ..... 6'4" and 300lbs... ... . Spokane WA to Deming NM in 2 1/2 days. Seats are fine... ... ... no problem.

I have premium cloth, am 6'2, 260lb , and think they are very comfortable. Also a freind of mine was sitting in the passenger seat today as a matter of fact and told me he thought the seats were very comfortable.

I've got one of each, ST, SLT, Laramie and the '05 Laramie is much better than the '03's with cloth. I KNOW the bar in the back you speak of. Still, even though the '05 is the best, they all need more support on the side. I liked the Chevy LT seats much better than any of them.

Anyway, If you can feel metal against your back, I think you have a legitimate beef. Have them replace the seats or at least the padding. Its worth a shot.

I have the leather.

Only complaint is that I want to know why the lumbar support moves itself. You set it, and about 5 minutes later it's back where it was. I hate that. Other than that, I feel that the leather seats are very comfortable. I'm 5'4" and 135 lbs though.

Thanks for all the replys. Sounds like most seats are OK. Maybe mine were made on a friday afternoon. I will post what the dealer will do for me.

My 05 is the Laramie with leather. I say the seats a very good, not great. On a long trip, 500/600 miles, my butt hurts some. My previous 95, Laramie with cloth, I have to say were the most comfortable seats I ever had on any vehicle. My butt never hurt. :)

TIm, they have a fix for that movement/recoil problem, I had it done on mine Apparently there were a few with bad 'ratchets" in them.

I own the 2004. 5 sport with full power leather and heated seat's (adjustable pedels)and after driving from Portland oregon to L. A and then to Phoenix Arizona and back to L. A. I can say they are great for my size of a body. 5'10, 230lb's.
