My 01-6speed H. O. has developed a very poor throttle response from off idle to 1800-2000 rpm, I feel like it's the MAPS sensor, could anyone tell me where it's located on the 01 and the cummins part # for it. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

well I guess no-one knows where the MAPS sensor is located, so I guess I'll do like I done the last time I posted a question on here, figure it out myself, so much for the TDR.

The MAP sensor is on the right side (driver's side) toward the back of the block, below the injector lines, but still on the intake portion of the head. You'll find two sensors with plugs back there. The farthest one back is the IAT, and slightly in front of that you'll find the MAPS. It takes a 1 1/4" 12pt deepwell socket. And from what I can tell, the Cummins part number is 3417030, but I'd verify that before ordering.

Incidentally, I found all that info by performing a few simple searches with the TDR forum search. Give that a shot next time before you start pouting that no one will help you. Same for the last time you posted a question about your oil pressure sender. I just did a search and found all the info you requested when you asked that question, some of which was in the very post you started.

Theres a lot of good info here, and a lot of very helpful people. Don't insult them with posts like the above.

Before replacing parts, you might try resetting your APPS/TPS. Pull the neg. cables from both batts. for a couple minutes. Reconnect them, turn key to the "wait to start" position, press the accelerator peddle to the floor slowly and release. You can also see the MAP reading with an ODBII scanner. You can usually find one at your local smog shop. I'm lucky that my neighbor has one. :) Good luck, Mike

Thanks for the info. I apppologize for my words, I tried to do a search on the site, but came up empty handed, maybe I didn't use the right search tools. Thanks to those of you who replied. Again I'm sorry.
