pop noise

Woke up this morning and my silencer ring was laying on the ground giving me this look :-laf .





On a lighter note, the truck was ideling this morning and it backfired or what seemed to be a backfire. I was standing at the exhaust listening to the rumble (before the silencer ring fell out) and it POPPED and that was it. No CEL and seems to run fine. I did have it manually idled up to 1100 RPM. Don't know what it was.

I am surprised to not see a TST (or other box that adjusts timeing) in your sig. On my truck if it goes to high idle with the TST turned on I will get a stumble, on the third stumble the cel comes on (p0036-crank position sensor). I have never heard it from behind the truck so I can't say if it sounds like a pop back there. Either way I would guesse it is timeing related.
