Any know about what to exspect for pop testing injectors, I was quoted $150 to $200, seams a lot higher that what I thought I have read that it should be
Don't get me wrong, I haven't made a pop tester yet, but it's definitely on my long list of lifetime projects I want to accomplish.
SPX Miller sells an expensive adapter tool which holds our Bosch injectors when using a pop tester. This adapter tool appears to be nothing more than a block of machined steel with a special knurled coupler threaded into one side. To use, the injector is inserted into the adapter tool with the inlet hole aligned to the tip of the knurled coupler. The coupler is tighten to create a positive seal to the injector. The adapter tool is then connected to the pop tester.
This adapter tool can be purchased from Miller SPX or easily made in one evening using a lathe and milling machine.
