Hi, does anybody else's truck make a popping noise when turning sharply up onto a steep incline. My 2004. 5 3500 4x4 does this every time I pull into my steep driveway unless I almost stop and then if it's wet I have to use 4 wheel drive to make it up my driveway due to the rear tires becoming unloaded. It doesn't seem to matter what direction I come from. I can't tell if this is a driveline noise or a body noise due to body flexing. My old truck, 1998 2500 4x2 never did this. Dealer service advisor said this is a normal noise. A friend said this might be the limited slip rearend. Thanks

I get a sort of klunk noise in the same scenario... If I recall correctly, didn't someone else on the forum notice that their exhaust (cat) was hitting a heat shield or transmission crossmember or something?? I think I'll get out and look tomorrow because I heard the noise again today.

I notice the noise when hitting a slight bump while turning right at slow speeds - such as going up the lip of a concrete driveway or something like that. Perhaps that jolt is enough to cause the exhaust to sway a little on its rubber mountings and touch something it shouldn't be touching... .
