popping noise

I have had this popping noise on the right front side of my truck since i bought it. It happens when i go over bumps. You can feel it if your sitting shotgun. I also have unusual tire wear. I get some severe cupping on my treads. any ideas. Every time i drop it off at the shop i ask them to diagnose the problem. I heard that the ball joints are bad on some of these trucks.

I'm sure others will have ideas too, but my noise was from a loose bottom shock bolt! Good luck finding it. George

My noise was the ball joint needed grease, fill it up and noise gone. By the way stealer couldnt find the problem, go figure.

I developed a popping noise several weeks ago and could not find it. That is until I got somebody to turn the wheel while I watched the front end. 1/4" of slop in the left side tie rod end (attaches to pitman arm). Replaced it and no more pop and tighter steering too. Kinda pricey from stealer though as nobody else handles them except the stealer.



I have the DT trackbar and it is great.



Maybe we could talk DT into fabbing us an improved tie-rod/drag link system???
