What did that baby cost?

My problem is I park it in front of my 5th wheel, one day I can see I am going to back the 5th wheel pin right into the tailgate. those sensors would not pick that up because its about 4' off the ground.

but I have backed into other things before where this would work. :(

That's pretty slick! I had a "backup alarm" on my old Durango which worked pretty well. Ran my $60 or so at Costco about 3 years ago. Single sensor mounted on the license plate frame. Install tapped into the backup light, and a speaker mounted in the back cargo area to provide and alarm. It beeped once when put into reverse, then started beeping when you got close to an object, about 4'. Closer you got, faster the beeps until a solid tone at about 6". Your setup looks a lot nicer. I'd be curious to see what your setup costs as well.

TMTT:

Cabbies and limo drivers would LOVE one of those... . only they wouldn't install the camera on the outside of the vehicle. :D I'm thinking a cleverly hidden camera behind the mirrored ceiling might do the trick.

Then they could sing: "Girl you looks good... . why dontcha back that thing up?!"

..... that way the mirror/camera/monitor unit could still be used for things that the driver likes to watch 'backup'.

Next time I'll upgrade to vision system? Would be nice when hooking up trailer.

I recall paying $199. for Poron System?

The JC Witney version would be nice mounted on the top rear of a travel trailer. So long as it could transmit the 40+ feet to the cab of the truck.

Hmmm... . very interesting - How far back does it measure? 10 feet? 20 feet? Using that one might be able to find out how close someone is tailgating you...

Are you suggesting a tool for more accurate brake tests, and the shear strength of your class III receiver bolts?:D
