Battery Blankets & Pan Warmer

Issues with permatex cure for case bolts

Bought another Tractor that needs some TLC as part of the "Ground Up" Resto I need to remove some rust on parts from cast to sheetmetal.

Don't need a commercial unit just something that runs off a shop compressor would be fine, if it works.

Thanks BIG

I bought one from Sears years ago, had about a 5 gallon hopper, after it went I bought just the gun and hose, you just stick the hose in a bag of sand. Both slow but worked pretty well. bg

Big,
I have this and have used it on some small projects. It’s slow and uses a lot of air, but does a pretty good job and is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick! My thirty gallon compressor can’t keep up. My eighty gallon handles it fine.

Edit: Just a bit slower posting than Dave...

Ive seen the red one in the Harbor Freight Website they have another that holds more media also. its mostly surface rust so it shouldn't be hard to remove.

I have a similar one to the one posted but it’s blue and I got it off Amazon for around $20. I’ve used it on small items and it works fine. Smallish to medium size, like my snowmobile exhaust, and it gets to be a pain. The little hopper runs out so fast that you’re filling it more than you’re spraying. I would not recommend something like this for blasting a tractor and it’s parts. For that, you’d be way better off with just the gun and hose like B.G. Smith mentioned.

Try looking at Eastwood.com. They make quality tools for guys like us. The biggest thing is dry air. You really should have a dryer in line before the blaster. It makes the media flow much more evenly.

A few years back, I had an "eye opener" on sand blasting. I know that this is "preaching to the choir", but I just want to remind everyone who uses an open sandblaster how super real important it is to only breathe only CLEAN (filtered) air.

Definitely tight fitting goggles, hood, respirator. Disposable painters suits are good too as cheap as they are unless you're OK w/ sand in the underwear n socks... it will get everywhere. Don't breathe the sand, it can berkeley you up for days.
+1K for dry compressed air, moisture will ruin your day. Dry sand too, if there's any dampness it'll clog. I've dried damp sand in those plastic HD mortar pans out in the sun, keep turning it over till completely dry.

I bought just the gun at Lowe's, it came with a hose, i attached air and shoved the hose in a bag of DRY play sand, slow but worked great on an old new holland baler and a brush hog and Tiller, still have it , bought 15 yrs. ago, just did the tiller 3 weeks ago with it, paid 15.00 for it

I bought a Harbor Freight 110 lb sandblaster it works really good for striping paint & rust off my tractor projects. At least I can take the old paint off before priming and repainting.
