OK, so I got a second OE manifold that is already drilled/tapped for an EGT (I will be installing a Granatelli monitor soon).

Can anyone point me to a thread that shows some good pictures and some good description on porting??

I have a good idea of what to do, but would like to have a little more info...

Also, can I reuse the exhaust manifold gaskets?? I have heard you can, but the one manifold I replaced, we installed new ones...

Thanks,

Steved

How much HP do you want?

Usually there is a loss of low end/ off boost torque. Velocity has its place in emptying out the cylinders, and spinning the turbo. Of course diesels are less influenced, but still, you may get more smoke and turbo lag.

Unless this is a sledpuller, or quarter mile truck, I would leave it stock, or just reach inside with some high quality emery cloth (a piece of sanding wheel or band sander material) and run in/out length wise with the scratches.

Hmmm, ok. I guess I was thinking that porting would also increase fuel mileage to a point... I have done several 440 chrysler head/intakes/exhaust with good results. Was thinking, after seeing some pictures of the mismatched flanges, that the CTD could use some porting too?
