There I was last Wed. night 275 km from home going fishing & the lift pump gave up the ghost. 87,000km on truck. Roadside assistance towed me to nearest dealer who installed new lift pump on Thurs. Service from Roadside assist & the dealer were excellent but I will never understand why D. C keep giving us a total POS when they know there is a problem with them. Change fuel filter every 20,000km or less & use fuel additive for lubricity. Next up is a fuel pump that keeps on pumpin. Still love my truck but would have shot the old girl that night if I had had a gun with me.

FASS is the answer!

Sorry to hear about your problem. The real right answer is to have Cummins/Dodge deliver a better unit, but for those of us who put lots of miles on our vehicles, we need security. I bought a FASS for my 3500 and won another one that night at May Madness. I have mine on my 3500 and it idles at 16psi and only drops 3 pounds initially with almost immediate recovery to 16psi.

In the near future, I will install the second unit on my wife's 03.

If nothing else, install a fuel pressure gauge to monitor. That too will be installed on my wife's rig in addition to the existing EGT, Boost and transmission Temp Gauges.

Good luck and I feel your pain.
