after 20k miles of listening to annoying ding ding ding of the low fuel light i finally got around to BOMBing my fuel sender unit, the job went fairly easy and only took about 1hr. i did find something that puzzled me on the sender unit assembly, there is a gold cylinder that surrounds a plastic cylinder. there are 3 screws that allow the gold cylinder to slide up and down on the plastic one, well there were sharp edges worn where the screws were which didnt allow it to move freely as well as the actual sender float that didnt make contact so i fixed both of those probs. after the upgrade i seem to be getting better fuel milage i dont no y, all i can th8ink of is if there was a bad connection or an air leak or somthing alli no is i gain 1-2 mpg. thanks to those that developed the upgrade for the sender unit.
