Posi NEEDED!!!!

Howdy Men.....

I have a 06 Quad Cab that i bought new... . it did not have a posi in it... ... i pointed this out to the dealership..... they freaked!!

I pointed out to them that a "Diesel" with out a "Positrac" was about as worthless "Teats" on a boar hog!! I managed to get a "Laramie". . for the same price as the "SP" model(cheapest)... ... ANY SUGGESTIONS on where a man might get one?

The dealership wants around 850. 00... . that seems STEEP!!

You can buy the posi on ebay... either the factory installed trac-rite or the GM gov-loc should work. You should have a 11. 50 AAM...



You only have those two choices at this point...

Randy's R & P show 5 choices: Detroit Locker, ARB Air Locker, Yukon Grizzly Locker, GM Gov-Lock, and Tru Trac. I have the factory limited slip (which may be the same as the Grizzly or True Trac, a planetary gear torque biasing) and have been happy with it. Have to tap the e-brake if one wheel has zero traction, but that is the only anamoly.

I had the Detroit (Eaton) tru-trac installed in my '06 and am very satisfied with it. Roughly $550 and my mechanic installed it. Make sure you order new bearings with it as the old ones will probably get ruined upon removal.

hi your deisel comes stock with a wedge type posi the pain is to tap the brake if spinning 1 wheel and you have to change the gear oil every 20000 miles or it wont work when you are cornerring andc goose it ! tom
