Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Posi Rear Noise

I am getting a rubbing and growling noise from my posi unit when turning slowly. Called dealer about a new posi unit and salesman said it is a common problem! Has anyone had this problem and replaced their posi with an aftermarket unit?

Truck is a 2001 4wd w/auto, don't want to replace with stock one if no good.

There is nothing wrong with it. Mine has done it from day 1 and I have over 50,000 miles.

How can you hear any noise from the rear end with the engine running?

You can feel the growl and can hear it when you are coasting aroung the turn
