As many of you may be aware I am trouble shooting an idle miss. Last night I was placing dielectric compound on my VP-44 connection. The VP had 7 wires going into it.
One of the wires had what looked like evidence of one of those quick connect crimp connectors (scotchlock by 3M?). This wire was black with a tan (maybe white) stripe.
Another wire in the 2 large connectors up near the master cylinder on the firewall actually still had a red scotchlock on it. I removed it and put liquid electrical tape over it. It was red with a green stripe. I also noticed the same color wire going into the VP-44.
Does anyone think there was a module hooked up to my truck at some time? Do they only take two wires like this. None of the others had any signs of tampering. I was told the truck didn't have any modifications ever. Nothing else on the truck looked tampered with.
I just wonder if a box or something had been installed.
