I think I might have a boost leak now... got a strange noise I can hear with the windows up or down... typically louder with more boost. Its a screeching/whirring sound... like air pressure leaking through a small opening.

In the event it was the intake tube gaskets (the ones near the heating grids), I replaced those this AM since they have been on/off more than I can can remember. I inspected everything else, nothing obvious.

Hopefully my gaskets fixed it... if not, hopefully it holds together until I get back from Georgia.

When I picked up my new D-Max company truck from the lot, it seemed to be a little sluggish. By the time I got it to work the CEL was on, when I looked under the hood I noticed the a hose disconected from the intercooler. When I reconected it the truck run well. I thick you will be with a small leak , just keep your EGTs in check.

Check the hose from the turbo to the intercooler tube. Mine looked and felt fine from the outside, but there was a sizeable hole that was letting all kinds of boost pressure out.

Run much better since I fixed it too.

On the 3rd gens the rt side ground cable will rub through the cac hose at the turbo if it touches. Mr Bob's distributing has a much better hose for that reason

I built myself an adapter from a 4" plastic plug and a piece of 4" hose, threaded an air chuck into the side of the 4" plastic plug.

Remove the air filter intake tube from the turbo, hose clamp the adapter to the turbo, set your air compressor to 35psi... connect it to the adapter and pressurize the system. You will find any leak you may have.

Be careful, I pressurized mine up to 50#s, the adapter blew off the turbo and hit my oil filter. it caved in the filter enough that it leaked.

Do you have a Banks High Ram intake manifold. I keep blowing the rubber and metal stud seals. what a pain in the butt.
