I have a couple elementary question about the new truck...

Does it help with air flow to remove the tube that connects the air-box to the fender?

And how long should I wait till i RE-HOOK-UP my Edge Comp to the the new truck ?? (has a whopping 198 miles on it now)

Finally, This cannot be helped now... BUT, was it a stupid move to get the 4. 10 gearing? I got it cause I want to put 35's on it later and the expense was only 44 dollars now OR alot more later to re-gear both ends...

BUT the truck spins up to 2300 at 70 mpg or so, I am a little worried to run engine that hard with little or no load...

comments/questions welcome

ALMOST FORGOT - is it normal for a new engine/truck to not idle smoothly at first, when new?

REASON I ASK- after a couple 2500 rpm shifts, then back to idle, the truck will BOUNCE on idle, 775-900-800-875-825- then levels out , you get the picture... but a new HO/6-spd also did it here at work, it had 150 miles on it...

what gives?

First of all, I love my 4:10s :D

It's been mentioned on TDR before that the Mighty Cummins is designed to run at or near redline all day long. (stopping for fuel when necessary, of course)

Mine's running to the mountains this weekend hauling only my big behind and Wifey.

65-85mph for 200 miles.

It just blows the city cobwebs out of it. ;)

I have the 4. 10's with 265 tires and it works well for me. The RPM's will not hurt the enigne. I think that mine runs quieter now that is has over 14K on it.

The 4. 10's sure do pull the 5er nicely, and I'm getting 18 - 19 MPG driving empty on the local interstates.

good luck.
