Possible fuel delivery problems? Lift pump??

I have an 08 6.7 2500 dpf and egr have been deleted* *I ran pretty low on fuel the other day and was acting like a plugged fuel filter on way home low power up hills and on takeoffs) *
*Changed the fuel filter which seemed to help for a bit. **
*Well on my way home today from work it was starting to act short on power again going up hills, so right around the corner from my house I decided to lean into it and see what happened... well surprise a lack of power and truck starved for fuel and died a few seconds later, after letting sit for a minute it started up and got me home..

Does this sound like a lift pump? Truck has 225k miles and I've put the last 100k on it without replacing and fuel pumps

Update*****

I changed fuel filter again and filled up tank and doesn't seem to be acting up, both times I had problems I was running 1/4 tank or less

Any follow up to what your problem might have been? Mine is doing the same, especially when the fuel level is low.
