Archived Possible fuel problem

I have a 2001 CTD that is "surging" starting at about 30mph. Truck will not go over 50mph. First thought is to change fuel filter. Will a 3rd gen filter fit a 2nd gen truck? Thanks for the help.

Never mind. Just checked Geno's and '00 - '05 use the same filter. Sorry about the brain f***.

Let us know if the new fuel filter solves the problem

New filter solved the problem... had to explain to mother-inlaw that the filter needs to be changed every once in a while (she owns the truck).

Tell the mother-in-law to let you put a fuel gauge on it, so in the future she will be able to see if there is a fuel problem.



Plus it is a great add-on to have for preventive Maintenance .
