:(Have a 94 automatic. Was driving at 70mph when RPM's went down and truck lost power. Pulled off the road; engine idle was OK; no fluid loss; everything seem OK. Got back on the road. Continued at 70mph. The fuel gauge was one-half tank. After about five miles the tank gauge was on empty. Pulled off the road. No leaks; everything seemed normal. Noticed a little loss of power. Filled the fuel tank (full) and drove another 75 miles home. Overflow valve changed about 20K ago along with fuel return lines. Seems like I hear about problems like this with the fuel pick up/ sender unit???

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't know about the loss of power, but the fuel sender in these trucks is a problem. My gauge has been on E for the last 5 years. I fill it up, it says F, but by the time I drive 100 miles, it drops to about 1/2, then 10 miles later it's on E. And it's even worse when I'm towing. I've just been using the odometer, and don't worry about it. I'll fix it one of these days. These trucks have to have a quirk, somewhere. I figure if I don't fix the fuel gauge, then something else won't break.
