Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Possible Ignition Switch Problem?

Occasionally, when I turn the key to start up, the starter ingages but then nothing. I first thought I had a dead battery, but if I nudge the steering wheel around, it makes contact and starts. I know what the obvious is, but haven't been able to find any threads about this problem or what is involved to fix it. Any experiences with this?

I believe this is covered under warranty, the dealer fixed mine after I purchased a new starter which was not hte problem. Stormy

I think there is a safety recall for ignition switches.

No kiddin'... I was under the impression that warrenty stopped at 100K. (I've got 114K)

Warranty stops at 100K or five years. A safety recall is not a warrantee item so it's not affected by warrantee limitations.

Warranty also stops when the paint falls off.
