I was wondering if it is possible to swap a transfercase from an auto to my 2wd getrag? and if so, what needs to be done for it to work?

The input shaft for the t-case needs changed- they have different numbers of splines. Maybe the adaptor between the 2 as well- not sure on that.

hmm because im thinking of making my d250 into a w250. im sick of getting stuck in peoples driveways. now that snow is only a month or two away i need a foah bah foah soon. i have a lead on a couple of trashed 4x4's for around 2k.

you could run a divorced 205 setup and not worry about swapping the tail of the trans.

true, but i want the least amount of fabrication possible. stock and reliable drivetrain.

find the right old dodge pickemup and you could get a crossmember that would bolt right in. back in the 70's they used divorced 205's in some heavier dodge trucks from the factory.

75 or 76 was the last year for the devorced transfer cases. The mounting brackets would fit with no problems. You would need all three shafts. Thats the good news. The bad news is those model trucks used small u-joints and shafts. So you would most likely have to build new shafts all threw the truck.

I know 77's had the married trans and cases.
