It is a intercooled 91 with just pump tweeks stock injectors. The truck did it just alittle w/the 21 exhaust housing on it under moderate to hard exceration. Now with a 16 housing on it, it does it alot sooner and alot louder and harder. It sounds like STSTSTSTSTST sound what do I got to do to fix it

Is the sound under a load or when letting off suddenly? I had a 91. 5 that had a bit of a fluttering/ pulsing sound under light throttle. It was just the nature of an open exhaust and the pump settings.

Now, if it does it when letting off, it is likely barking, or surging. That is bad. You will need some upgrades. I started a thread a while back about turbo surge, and it had some good info from others here.

It's called turbo bark and it will break the shaft if left to bark. Mine did the same thing after the housing change. Get yourself an HTT Stage III compressor upgrade and it will cure the bark and give you a great turbo scream as well as improved airflow.

I talked to a turbo shop and they said to try and take the air filter off and drive it, if that don't fix it (we have the intercooler bypassed bad is full if holes normal) put the intercooler in it and try that it will ack as a resivor possibley the turbo is pushing more are that the engine can use at that time ????? If that don't fix it change the housing and wheel
