How do I remove the driver side post cover where gauges would go? I would like to put auxillary switches in this place but don't want to break the post.

Grab inboard edge.

Pull away from windshield.

Lift up and away from windshield.

You will be pulling against some springy metal clips. I've had mine in and out several times—doesn't seem to bother the clips. You will also need to separate a connector for the tweeter.

I pulled the weatherstrip away from the A-pillar cover and then used a thin flat blade screwdriver and pushed the clips inboard to release them. The cover popped right off. I was worried that I would break the clips off if I tried to pull the cover off.
