2007 2500 5. 9

I found this one locally. I'm always on the look out for an 06-07 with the 5. 9 engine.

KBB says the price is spot on and these trucks always seem to demand a premium.

Haven't looked personally at it nor driven it yet.

Carfax says the steering linkage recall has not been taken care of.

I'd like some input from the gents on the forum, if you would.

CBlack,

How far are you from the truck? If you are not close do you know someone knowledgeable to check it out? Be careful, especially with thise V6 5. 9's. . (wink wink). The best year for the 5. 9; the 6. 7 has not yet gotten to that level of refinement...

My $00. 02... .

Eddie

I'm about 15 minutes or so from it. I do not know much about this series which is why I was asking. I know a reputable guy about 30 minutes from the dealer.

V6 5. 9s... :-laf And then in the description it says V8, 345hp at 5400rpms!

Stupid car salesmen.

I guess the other thing that makes you go, "Hmm" is that the second owner had it for 8 months. My bride says there is something wrong with it...

CBlack,

Might be something with the truck; or simply the 2nd owner lost his employment... I agree with the Bride... be wery wery cautious... .

Called the service department and the only thing they show is a water pump was replaced under warranty in 09.

Two things I see... Been in Illinois for 3 years (Undercarriage RUST) which is a problem
for Dodges and it's been registered as a commercial vehicle for those 3 years. I'd pass.

I had a chance to look at it the other day. There is no rust to speak of underneath. Though rust did cross my mind.

Commercial vehicle... . I guess it depends on what type of commercial work was being done. Some of the guys on this board are what I would consider commercial drivers and I would trust a vehicle I bought from them.

But I'm passing on this one too.

Thanks for the input, everyone.
