Power adjustable pedals

Hey guys,

Thought I'd check here first before the dealer gives me the "I don't know anything about anything" look. I'd like to install power pedals on my truck since it wasn't already opted. I'm about 5'8" and must be short legged. For me to push the clutch fully without being awkward, I have to move the seat forward a good ways, which makes me sit forward of the person next to me and also makes it hard to reach around and behind the seat to grab the seat belt. Also it causes me to sit a tad too close to the air bag as well. But anyways, i figure it should be all plug and play with replacement parts ordered from dealer, or so I hope. I'm sure it won't be cheap. Has anyone added adjustable pedals to their truck? My dash has a delete plate on the dash were the switch would mount. My sales brochure states it's an option available on all trim levels and all cab models. Also I'm wondering how far the pedals come back. Don't want to spend big bucks and the pedals not come back far enough.

"That's not my job" is pretty quick response from most tricky questions asked at dealerships. Also you'd think ordering factory option item to add on yourself or at dealer would get you the exact factory item installed just like factory build. Not so. Bill Pierre Dodge, Seattle, for my '06. 5 2500, add-on's of U-connect, fog lamps, skid plate were going to be locally purchased, butchered in "we'll get a extra wire and switch mounted somewhere" and all the time they were pricing out of factory manual. Took some close questioning to even discover that's what their method was amongst many "not my job" responses. I quickly backed away from all that and will after market whatever else goes on. Make sure they state exact factory item and exact factory install for whatever the work might be. Don't assume it'll be, make them say it.

I've got adjustable pedals on one of our vehicles and find the adjustment not very useful. I'm 5-10 on a GOOD day. The adjustment seems to lower the pedal an inch or so, but does not raise them any significant amount. You may want to test out adjustable pedals at the dealership before sinking any money. Tell them you might want to trade in your non-adjustable truck.



I'm guessing the price will be significant and the adjustment not very helpful.

You cold attach a block to the clutch pedel with U bolts or something.

This isn't a very good permenant solution, but my dad has zip tied a peice of 2x2 to the clutch pedal for my mom a time or 2...

I have these on my 05 Jeep and my BIL has them on his 3500 Ram dually... . both of us are tall and our wives are short... . we both find that our wives don't care to play with the pedals and adjust the seat to fit them... we both set the pedals down either as far as they go or almost that far... both of us have talked about this and neither of us really use the option... .



Neither of us would buy it again unless it came in a package that didn't make sense to break up... . Just my thoughts...

Well, I am 6' my wife is 4'11" I drive with the pedals all the way down, she with the pedals all the way up, more than enough adjustment even for her

I just wish she would remember to put them back down again :{ ouch

Best option I ever ordered. I'm 6'3" and can dial the seating and pedal position in perfectly for long trips and everyday use. I do wish that Dodge would offer the telescoping steering wheel. Toyota's got it standard on their new Tundra. Long overdue on pickups.

I'm average height and have the adjustable pedals. I adjusted them once when I first got the truck and never adjusted them again. I wouldn't order them as an extra option but they were part of the Laramie package when I ordered the truck. Another little "feature" that is not really all that useful. Try one at a dealer. I'm sure that some people that are not average size might find them useful, I don't.

I've got 'em but never used 'em. (unless you count accelerating by keeping your foot steady and hitting the switch :-laf ) They just came with the rest of the truck.

Adjustable Pedals

The adjustable pedals supplied by Dodge didn't work for my wife who is short. She had to shift her hip around to get the pedal down as well as set the seat way too far forward. It was awkward.

I went to a place that sells supplies for handicapped people and found an adjustable clutch extension pedal for $45. 00. It clamps on really nicely. The one I got didn't have a rubber pad so I got one that fit perfectly from Knect's Auto Parts and glued it on with a little Gorilla glue to be safe.



The thing works great. Easier shifting. I like it too. It has been on the truck for nearly 2 years.
