as promised this is a follow up... took 99 to dodge dealer . they found absolutely nothing wrong... took to a fuel injection specialist that uses the cummins computer system... they ran checks for 2 hours and found nothing wrong... then they moved it to the dyno and cranked it up... let it idle for a few and the lift pump was reading 5# pressure... as they speeded up the pressure went to over 15 and never dropped back for an hour at any speed. . had 192HP at the wheels at 78 MPH... max torque was 949. 0 at 33. 0 mph... . at 70 MPH torque was 255. 0 and wheel HP was 180. 0..... fuel people suggested replace the lift pump. . $338. 00... dodge dealer agrees... said they have had lots of problems with the lift pump... . also had the fuel specialist order a Banks 4" stainless exhaust system and Banks three gage pillar mount and a superchips D box for cummins, and some thing to keep the torque converter locked up at load with the extra power the box gives... where should the sensor for the transmission temp be? in the pan or one of the lines? the banks exhaust system has a threaded boss for the EGT sensor... and the other gage is a turbo boost pressure... . what should the auto transmission temp be pulling a load???and the egt??? and the boost??? thanks to all of you a thousand times over for all the advice and emails and answers here..... everyone has been great...
