Has anyone had this recall taken care of? What exactly do they check? The paper says something about a loose wire. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, o. k. , I wasn't sure if you were asking about the power distribution box or one of the various power boxes on the market.

Sorry I know nothing about the recall.

I had it done

And it was a wast of time, they only check to see if the wire is on right and tight. The guy at the shop did not even know what the TQ setting was to be.

As I understand it, some trucks had a connector put on backwards, which puts the live portion closer to grounding out on something near the connector. No big deal normally, but in a wreck (???) it makes it more likely to short out and cause a fire. So basically, if yours is on backwards, they flip it around the other way.

Takes only a few minutes; if it reduces the risk of fire even a little bit then to me it is worth the time. As noted, this is a Safety Recall and as such there is no charge to the customer at all.

From what the recall says they have a problem with the generator cable at the power distrabution center (PDC) coming loose. The recall has the tech check for any sighns of arcing if there are no sighns of arcing they just make sure that both the B+ and generator cables at the PDC are installed so the crimp faces up and that the nuts holding the wires on are tight. If there are sighs of arcing then they have to replace the bolt assembly that the wires bolt to.
