Sorry to add another question to yours, but what is the difference between the "Hot" PE and this COMP PE?? By a comment in your post, it sounds like this COMP PE is a new box? Maybe it's just the next iteration of the Hot PE.....

I ask because after my new South Bend clutch clutch next weekend, and the HX40 and DD TTPM, I have been thinking that I'd like a Hot PE. Maybe this COMP PE would be the way to go.

Thanks to anyone who can shed a little light here for me #ad

The Edge Comp product doesn't exist outside of a prototype so it isn't possible to directly answer your questions pertaining to it. However, it is expected to have the same performance as the Power Edge and EZ combined. Depending on the dyno you might see 135 on a Dynojet or 150 or so on a Mustang.

Tom, the ETH responds differently to the fueling boxes. We see only moderate performance gains as a result.

David_VT, the comp will only be available on the west coast #ad
Sorry

PS. Did you check the video of CSutton and Adam pulling the sled on my site?

Hey Guys.

As of right now my truck is in the shop for a new injection pump. I just had my TPS replaced, and my Lift Pump.
I have gauges (see sig)

I was wondering, WHO is wanting to get a power edge COMP?

I was going to get a Blue Box, but I learned that the "B. B. " had gauges AFTER I bought $$$ Gauges.

I am seriously planning on getting the PE COMP Box as soon as I learn it has become available.

Right now my truck is mechanicly stock with the exception of an ATS Manifold.

Will the COMP Box stress my injectors? or the VP44 trying to shove the extra fuel through my stock injectors?

I have the stock clutch, and it has about 75-100K miles on it, but still seems strong.
How long do you think my stock clutch could hold up to this PE COMP Box?
I don't have the funds for a NEW clutch, and install yet, and I don't wan't to put a High horspower/torque clutch in my truck and leave the engine stock.

I cannot put a clutch and the "box" in at the same time. (financial reasons)
But I would like to have the box on the truck, even if it is just for engine timing, until I can afford a new clutch.

Any opinions on this Box would be EXTREMLY appreciated.

Thanks,
MerrickNJr

For those who want to sometimes lower smoke emissions the Comp will also be able to fuel below stock levels. I was told Brett's ETC is producing 305 hp and almost 700 ft/lbs with stock injectors dynoing using a pre-production unit. I believe the new Edge boxes will also be re-programable through a RS232 port in addition to the pre-programmed power levels. Don't know if this will be an end user option, however. Edge is busting their butts getting the Comp ready for MM.

BLKDEMON, no worries, I'll take care of you #ad

You had me worried there for a minute. I thought that I was going to have to drive to California and pick one up or something. HAVC, make sure that you let us know as soon as they are released.

Roger that. I was hoping to have a prototype to check out by now but nothing yet #ad

The plan is to have some units at May Madness for folks to see. I had hoped to have one on my truck to dyno test. We'll see.

When there available and I've had a chance to put them to the test I'll give a shout.

HVAC,
“David_VT, the comp will only be available on the west coast #ad
Sorry”
That was evil, he, he #ad

To the rest,

From the PE Site, “The Power Edge COMP features five power levels with power gains from 40 to 120 hp. Each of the five power levels will also have an independent five level adjustable responsiveness setting. With this feature one can choose the optimum balance between responsiveness and low boost smoke control no matter other power modifications have been made to the engine”.

I sent an email to PE asking when the COMP would be available and received a reply on May 7 from Aaron Stewart. Aaron said, “The COMP will be available by the end of next week …”

Therefore, we should see it anytime #ad

BTW, I heard because of shipping difficulties the COMP would see limited availability in its initial offering on the West Coast #ad
Sorry

PS. All the videos are awesome!

bomber , to answer your question , the comp will tax your stock used clutch in a hurry , expect to replace it soon after you get all that power under your foot .

sky isn't that always the way , i work in the computer industry and before you open the box its already obsolete #ad

i think you may be able to trade it in ????? anyone close to PE confirm this ? if not there will be many EZ and PE's in the classified section .

tom golden , the comp box will replace your DDTM and the need for the PE , for me the automatic owner , my PE is a RACE ONLY item , and rarely gets exercised , to many levels play havoc on my shift points .

the comp will replace the EZ + EDGE boxes... one box will do what two did is how I understand it, so I'd think the price would around $1000-1300 and maybe a little more... will have to wait & see... ... chris

Sky, I have some inquiries out on that possibility. HVAC knows of no such plan and I haven't got a response from PowerEdge as of yet. Does anybody know what the price is going to be. I think I'll just go with DDII's if the price is to steep. I think I can keep my clutch alive with just injectors and my PE EZ. Any more power than that and I'll be buying a new clutch.
