Just installed my DD Stage III’s and HOLLY SMOKE BATMAN #ad
where’d that black cloud come from #ad
. With the hot Power Edge in the off position we pulled out of the driveway, Blair P. sitten shotgun and Mike C. in the back (Performance Diesel gang). Popped the clutch in second gear and OH MAN I can already feel a big difference in the low-end horsepower. With the Pocket Dyno ready and waiting we got out to our local freeway, pulled over and waited for traffic the clear. 2ND, 3rd, 4th, 5th (love the shift thing). Pocket Dyno reads 280 HP. With the PE on level 1 (green light) we give it another try. The dyno reads 310 hp. With the PE on level 2 (yellow light) I was able the break the rear tires loose out of the hole. Clutch slipped a little in forth and a little more in fifth. Dyno reads 335 hp. OK girls, now we have the PE on the red hot level 3 (red light) and were waiting for traffic to clear, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, (clutch slips) 5th (clutch slips again)Blair says “are we at 60 mph already” #ad
. Dyno reads 350 hp and that’s with me backing off because I was afraid of toasting my clutch. I gotta tell you guys, that was the most fun I’ve had with my paints on in a long time #ad
. Anyway, I think that these two products complement each other very well. The DD stage III injectors give you the low-end power and it’s steady power throughout the RPM range. The Power Edge gives you a power boost at about 1400 RPM and comes on strong. The great thing about this combo is that you have the 3 power level options or you could just turn the thing off until your ready to spank some PSD’s. Can’t use all the power until I upgrade to a 16cm turbo housing and a heavy duty clutch. EGT’s were 1528 (yikes) boost was 38 psi on that last run. Cruise control is unusable with the PE on level 2 or 3 but that’s no big deal because I don’t need all that power when I’m cruising down the freeway unless I see a PSD coming up in the rear view and then it’s just a quick touch of the button and the PSD becomes a little speck in the mirror if you can see past the black cloud #ad
. Special thanks to Blair P. for doing such a great job installing the injectors. Oh yea, I just couldn’t resist leaving the Pocket Dyno on blinking 350, 350, 350 all the way home #ad
. Sorry for the long post but just couldn’t hold back.

CONGRATS & Very cool indeed!!

Let us know what clutch decision you make.

With just the DD I's and the hot PE I've been reduced to just running the PE while passing cars because the clutch is like teflon!!

(But I had a great time with the PE before that and will again once I get the OEM clutch removed, hmm might be a time to upgrade to the DD III's... . )

HVAC&MY6, mud bogging mid august and I want to enter the Green Monster. We need a clutch solution soon... #ad

When you mention cruise control unusable in II and III is that with the Stage III injectors in as well? I'll have that combination soon which is why I am asking. Also which Stage III's ya have, the A or the M's?

I'll have my truck dynoed after the transmission work (August 2nd) going to do stock, and then a run in every level on the "Hot" PE. For the dyno run I will have Hot PE, JRE 4" Exhaust, EGT, Boost, transmission Temp gauges, K&N filter. I am pondering getting a different "custom version" of the PE, too many people have this version and I wanna try to have somethin different.

It sure is nice to here someone excited, sounds good Cliffmandude. See you tonight for some more fun. Hey Kat the injectors are stage III A's. It really turned out to be a very nice combo pretty impressive even if the darn thing does have so many extra valves. LOL

Hello, I'm HVAC. I would like to be your horsepower host #ad
Please lay down on the couch over there and tell me how much smoke you can stand #ad
We have several packages to serve you, or custom tailored systems are available. Please put your seat belts on and put your tray in the upright position. The smoking light is on, but I need to warn you that we may be experiencing some turbulence ahead #ad

That's with the injectors and the PE box on level 2 or 3. Had no problem with the speed control using the PE only.

Cliffman you have been infected with the performance diesel lot, oh the shame of it all. And to think now you can race Corvettes with a simple 6 cylinder diesel, its to much for the wee mind to comprehend!!
But being aflected with the same lot I understand the shame of it all!!

Kat, When I activate the cruise on any level,I get the surging action. Mine usually surges about 3-5mph in 2&3 which I don't like. It's bearable in Level 1 until it settles down after a couple of miles. With the old Hot Edge, level 1 didn't surge at all. That's what you'll have to look forward to when you get the Custom Hot Edge. <font color=blue>
