My brother-in-law owns a 1994 Dodge 3500 diesel with a 5-speed. It has slight modifications including a k&n air filter, aftermarket exhaust, and a tst products torque plate that is supposed to give it 270 hp and 475 ft lbs. This truck has a tremendous amount of low end torque. It seems like the peak power is from about 1200 rpm to 2500 rpm. After about 2500 rpm the power falls off. This seems to a characteristic of the older trucks. What can be done to make it pull as hard up to 3000 rpm like the newer ones? Thanks

a new set of performace govenor springs would fix that. Before I got my 3K GSK I tightened my stock springs 2 clicks which allowed the engine to fuel to 3K rpm.

Did you return the 3K GSK? What would be the point of installing the kit if you achieved the goal of 3K with an adjustment?

Color me confused.

TSeran,

The stock springs are designed for a specific rpm range, as are the 3gsk springs. performance will be much better with the 3's.

How many RPM's will the 3KGSK kit allow? I have heard of guys turning 3500-3600 RPMs with the 3K kit, is this realistic? I would like to be able to turn low 3k's, but dont know if I need a 3K kit or a 4K kit.

A 3gsk made a huge difference on my '94 automatic, its worth every penny. Stock timing is a little lower on 94's; bumping it might move the torque curve up a little.
