2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission power flip mirrors

does anyone know if you can put the new flip mirrors on our mounts so they are heated and mororized? the new truck mirrors look the same, mount the same and are the same size, but i do not know if they will wire up properly? any help would be much appreciated

I remember this talk a while back, guys took the '03 power heated flip-up tow mirrors and mounted the to the second gen flip-up tow mirror bases. Not many did it due to the cost involved, buying two sets of mirrors.

It's worth it if you can do it. I'd suggest looking for a set of wrecked mirrors for the bases to save money (unless you already have the non power flip up mirrors on your second gen truck). You only need the bases for the 2nd gen. truck. The arms and heads from the 3rd gen. get grafted to the old bases. There are excellent instructions on here that detail how to do it.

Rob Thomas actually wrote a how do page on doing it. It takes a little bit of time, but well worth the effort and $. . See if you can look it up, and if not, I can tell you how to do it. Just PM me.
