Hooked up to the 5er this afternoon to get ready for a trip to the mountains... . passenger side towing mirror is very loose and doesn't want to stay adjusted'

Instead of replacing with the "manual" mirrors, thought I would go with the after market power replacements.

Looked on eBay and found two sources:

1) Option Racing

2) Racing Guys Motor Sports Equip.

Has anyone had any experience with either vendor and their products? Are ther other sources for the power replacement mirrors?

Thanks

I know your heart is set on power mirrors but if you have manual mirrors they can be tightened.

You have to pry the seal/grommet on the mirror rod/plastic cover move it up or down so it is out of the way. Take your door panel off there are three nut to hold mirror to door. Once mirror is off you will need to take bracket off. Turn the plastic cover around so you have access to the back of the bracket where there are 4 torx bit screws that will need tightening. Put it back together ( I always look off into the distance when I try to get the platic cover back in place. When I look I never can get it back in place. )

Genos has towing mirrors.

I sure love the standard equipped power mirrors on my 05 over the tripod type on my 95. They're worlds apart in technology.

I am unfamiliar with both of the vendors you pointed out, but just installed a set of Kool Vue Pwr/htd tow mirrors, replacing the factory pwr/htd standard mirrors. They look identical to the ones you are interested in.
Quality for the price seems excellent and other than making sure you have the required reinforcement bracket, they are a simple install The mirrors from racing guys appear to have the brackets included. .
I bought a pkg of door trim retainers here prior to installing Trim Panel Retainers

I replaced the rt side on my 06 with one from here, can't tell any difference between it and OEM. Dealer wanted over $300. 00 for it. bg

Check Geno's - - They have aset of CIBA's that look like the old Power Vision mirrors but with turn signals as well as power and heat - - - The old CIBA's don't have turn signals but are larger than OEM and PV - - I've had them on my last three trucks - - woldn't take for them

You will need the factory reinforcement brackets that these bigger mirrors require! They install on the inside of the door over the mirror mounting studs. I bought the aftermarket power heated mirrors and the work fine. They seemed to "gray out" pretty fast so you might want to armor-all them to keep them black. Google the proper parts#'s for mirrors and brackets and you will find a very good deal with free shipping just as I did.

That's all folks!

Refering to the last two posts will give you all the info you will need. It's the same info i used and all went extremely well. All part #'s are correct. The deal on ebay with brackets and shipping sounds like great deal and I can't imagine there are more than one or two mfg's cranking these mirrors out. Quality should all be about the same so shop by price and FEEDBACK!

Mirrors came in yesterday. They are the Kool Vue mirrors. They had the brackets with them, so I have an extra set. Wasn't too bad to install. The drivers side is the hardest because of the mirror switch hitting the aft upper screw. I turned the screw around and after installing cut the screw flush with the nut. I also took my heat gun and softened the door panel and forced the back of the switch down enough to just clear the nut.

Do the mirrors you just installed have the small "spot" mirrors on them?

I use these a lot when manuevering the fifthe wheel in tight campgrounds so they are a must.
